NEW DELHI: Concerned with the attack on the van carrying cash in the ATM, the government has proposed that the ATM in the city will not be allowed to pay the rupee after 9 pm. According to the officials, it has been advised that the banks taking money will take cash from the banks in the afternoon only.The Home Ministry has proposed these changes to private security agencies working on the trade of notes. Under this, work to deposit money in ATMs in rural areas will be done by 6 pm, while in Naxal-affected districts this work will be done by 4 pm. Similarly, the van carrying more than Rs 5 crores will be specially prepared and has facilities like CCTV and GPS.

According to the ministry officials, in a situation where two armed guards and a motorist in a van can carry the vehicle to safe places, in the van. According to an estimate, 8000 private vehicles circulate around 15,000 crores of cash from ATMs to ATMs. Private security agencies keep banks close to 5000 crores of cash from the banks.
Officials said that the process has been forwarded to the Law Ministry to allow it. After getting the approval from there, the directions of each state will be announced.
